How SAAC can help
We want to help you get as much out of your time as a student as possible. We are here to help in any way we can, from advice and campaign resources to socialising; we're even getting you discounts on some of the best cruelty-free products and services!Membership of SAAC entitles you to the following benefits:
- Permission to contribute to the Forum
- The SAAC forum is a place where you can hang out, discuss ideas and inspire each other. Anyone can view the messages on the main forum, but only SAAC members may contribute. There is also a completely private section that only members can see.
- Use of the SAAC Resources
- We can provide you with materials to help in your campaigns, including a SAAC banner, customisable posters, stickers and sign-up sheets for your group. Materials can be downloaded for free, or sent in the post if a small donation is made to cover costs.
- Discounts
- We're getting together with some of the best veggie and cruelty-free companies in the UK to bring you discounts on their products. Have a look at what goodies you could get for less!
- Help, support and advice
- We can help or advise you on various aspects of getting active for animals, including setting up your very own student group, organising events, improving the veggie options in the college restaurants and shops, studying without harmful animal use and so on.
- We can also advise you on dealing with the Students Union and university authorities. If you find that you are having trouble in relation to the nature of the group, we can act as an external mediation type body to help resolve the difficulties.
- Stock up on leaflets
- We are working in partnership with several of the other main animal rights/veggie organisations to create a kind of "one-stop-shop" for information leaflets. If you want to have a general animal rights/veggie stall or event you can order a bundle of leaflets from us, instead of having to contact all the different groups individually.
- Meet other like-minded people
- Once you are a member you will be able to view all those fab people on the Members Contacts list. Who knows, maybe there will be someone in your area you could hook up with!
